Role Description
We are looking to hire a Private Client Paralegal who will support solicitors in the Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trust, and Tax practice areas in a full-time, on-site role located in Towcester.
Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and preparing legal documents such as wills, powers of attorney, probate applications, and trust documentation, as well as assisting with estate administration matters. The role involves conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and organising documents, managing case files, and maintaining accurate records on internal systems. The Private Client Paralegal will communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and third parties to gather information, provide updates and coordinate the progression of matters in a professional and empathetic manner. The position also includes general administrative support for the private client team, contributing to efficient workflow and high-quality client service. An ability to hit the ground running would be advantageous.
Qualifications & essential requirements
- Candidates should possess a solid grounding in Law, ideally with 2 years experience in private client matters (wills, probate, trusts, tax).
- Strong legal document preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, and managing private client documentation.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to interact sensitively with clients and work effectively with colleagues.
- Effective Research skills, including the ability to locate, interpret and apply relevant legal and procedural information.
- Thorough document review skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience using a case management system would be beneficial, we use Leap.
- Prior experience in a private client or probate department is essential, excellent organisational and time-management skills, proficiency with legal case management and MS Office software and the ability to manage multiple matters to deadlines.
- A legal qualification such as a law degree, CILEx/Paralegal qualification, or relevant equivalent training is advantageous.
