Role Description
We are looking to hire an Agricultural Paralegal. Providing dedicated legal support to solicitors working on agricultural property, rural business, and related legal matters. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Towcester.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, assisting with drafting correspondence and case-related documentation, managing case files, handling correspondence, and maintaining accurate records and databases. The role also involves assisting with the progression of matters, communicating professionally with clients and third parties, coordinating with external professionals, and ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
The Agricultural Paralegal will support solicitors with client matters, assist with file opening/closing procedures, completion statements, accounts queries, postings and billing, and contribute to the smooth running of the agricultural and rural business department.
Qualifications & essential requirements
- Strong grounding in Law and familiarity with agricultural, property, and rural business legal matters, or a demonstrable willingness to learn these areas.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting letters, forms, and other case-related documentation.
- Experience supporting solicitors, legal assistants or legal teams, with an understanding of law firm processes, confidentiality, client care and file management.
- Excellent organisational skills, including document organisation, record keeping, and use of legal case management and Microsoft Office software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional client-service mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients and third parties.
- Ability to work reliably on-site in Towcester, managing workload independently while collaborating with colleagues.
- Prior experience in a legal secretary, legal assistant, paralegal or similar role within a property department or professional services environment is essential.
- Relevant qualifications in Law, legal studies, business administration, or a related field would be beneficial.
- Experience using a case management system would be beneficial; we use LEAP.
- Assisting with completion statements, accounts queries, postings and billing.
- General administrative duties when necessary.
